Comments on some of these pictures - 1. The Dope Building - Being a fantasy of optical illusions including a "fool's tackle" pully system and a "Shadewald perpetual motion machine (for the latter, look up "Shadewald" in my link to Don Simanek). 3. Grass Roots - Maize in the New World, wheat in the Middle East, and Rice in Asia - such were the crops of the beginning of agriculture. They are all monocots. That's why it's called "Grass Roots". 16. I. C. U. Bach - A fantasy on one of the lesser known children of the great Johann Sebastian Bach. The picture's theme is on I. C. U.'s little known concerto for tuba and guitar. 17. Laterodectus galacticus - Featuring genetically modified humans introduced onto a planet in the neighborhood of the bar galaxy NGC 130. Genetically modified black widows were also introduced to keep the population in check... 20. Women's Lib - This naughty print was done many years ago when the movement was much more controversal than now. Times have changed and so have the views of the artist who is now all for woman's lib! 23. Population Bomb - Produced shortly after Paul Ehrlich published the book "Population Bomb" in 1969. The message of the book is still valid (even if Ehrlich's timing is a bit premature). 30. Naked Mole Rats - These creatures actually exist (human bodies have been substituted for the normal rodent ones here, however). They live in Africa, Kenya, especially (note Mount Kilimanjaro in the background). |
